1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT & SENSITIVE DOCUMENTS

FlyLearn collects personal data necessary for flight training and operations management. This includes:

  • Identification: Name, email, phone, and mailing address.
  • Aviation Credentials: Digital copies of Pilot Certificates, Medical Certificates, and Government-issued IDs.
  • Operational Data: Flight hours (Hobbs/Tach), lesson logs, and training progress.
  • Financial Data: Payment details processed via third-party secure gateways (Stripe/Square).

2. COMPARTMENTALIZATION & ACCESS GRANTS

By using the Website, you acknowledge that Fly Learn is a collaborative platform.

  • Access Grant: You grant Fly Learn the right to share your information with any registered user or entity (e.g., Instructors, Flight Schools, or Examiners) as necessary for the operation of the services.
  • Compartmentalization: While Fly Learn uses administrative controls to limit data visibility (e.g., a student generally only sees their own data), you acknowledge that all registered users are part of the broader Fly Learn ecosystem and data may be accessed by authorized personnel/entities as required for training and safety.

3. DATA USE & RIGHT TO SELL/TRANSFER

Fly Learn LLC reserves the right to use collected data for any lawful business purpose.

  • Business Transfers: In the event that Fly Learn LLC, or a specific flight school managed via the platform, undergoes a business transition (such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), your personal information and training records will be among the assets transferred.
  • Marketing: We reserve the right to use and sell aggregated or individual personal data for marketing and research purposes.

4. DATA SECURITY & LIABILITY LIMITATION (THE “BREACH SHIELD”)

Fly Learn implements commercially reasonable security measures, including password protection and encryption where applicable. However:

  • NO GUARANTEE: You acknowledge that no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
  • Waiver of Liability: Fly Learn LLC, its members, and associated Flight Schools (e.g., Summit Ground LLC) are not liable for any unauthorized access, data breach, or theft of information, regardless of how the data was obtained or whether Fly Learn was negligent. By uploading sensitive documents (Medicals, Certificates, etc.), you do so at your own risk and waive any claims for damages arising from a security failure.

5. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Fly Learn reserves the right to store and process data on servers located outside your country of residence. Our primary protection for these transfers is password-based authentication.

6. YOUR RIGHTS & COMPLIANCE

As a user in the aviation industry, your data is often tied to federal record-keeping requirements.

  • Opt-Out: Your only “right” regarding your data is to cease using the Website. Continued use of the platform constitutes irrevocable consent to our data practices.
  • Instructor Notification: To terminate an account or request data removal (subject to legal retention requirements), you must contact your flight instructor or email [email protected].

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy at any time without individual notification. Your continued use of the platform after the “Effective Date” constitutes acceptance of all changes.
